The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 7th minute of the match, managed to save Costa Rica from getting a goal against them. Fang Hao Jing had several of the Costa Rica's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 8 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-0 score and a disappointed Benito Sanz as he didn't even see the shot coming. Fang Hao Jings short, quick shot in the 11thth minute got Benito Sanz to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 12th minute, Alexander Carballo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, Costa Rica's Benito Sanz got control of the ball when Fang Hao Jing tried to sneak it across the goal line. 18 minutes into the game, Fang Hao Jing cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Benito Sanz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Benito Sanz came out and tried to block the shot, but Fang Hao Jing slotted it home off the left post making it 4-0 in the 31st minute. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pauli Pogba in the 34th minute of play. 35 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Fang Hao Jing. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Eliseo Noboa got a free kick in the 36th minute. 39 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Fang Hao Jing came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 41 minutes into the game, Feliks Škarpa cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-0. Benito Sanz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. With an all-out effort, The Glorious FC's Benito Sanz threw himself towards the right post 44 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Fang Hao Jing, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 5-0.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Axel Tasis made a kick off. The referee felt a red card was in order, 51 minutes into the game, when Abel Carballo put in a rough tackle. In the 52nd match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Abel Carballo to maneuver through the defense. Benito Sanz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vivaldo Carioca, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Benito Sanz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Vivaldo Carioca went, in the 56th minute, to the upper right corner, 6-0 was the resulting score. Costa Rica's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. The Glorious FC walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
