Joe Camp made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 11th minute of play. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nicolas Hamard, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Cats and dogs booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Camilo Gisbert didn't get a good kick on the ball. Felix Emmanuel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 20th minute of the match, Felix Emmanuel got a very nice opportunity to score, but Julio Vera was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Cats and dogs fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. With a little luck, Ecuador's Julio Vera got control of the ball when Felix Emmanuel tried to sneak it across the goal line. Nicolas Hamard's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 36th minute of play. Julio Vera stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Nicolas Hamard's shot from short distance in the 38th minute. 39 minutes into the match, Cats and dogs's goal looked a bit too open when Luis Andino came free, but Joe Camp reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 39 minutes into the game, Luis Andino cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Joe Camp was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a defensive mix-up in Cats and dogs's zone, Cristian Sancho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Joe Camp came out of the goal and Cristian Sancho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Felix Emmanuel to make the kick off. In the 54th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 55th minute of the match, but Joe Camp made a huge save. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Felix Emmanuel, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. Cristian Sancho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Joe Camp read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 59th minute of play. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 72th minute after Cats and dogs's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. The corner ended in Felix Montes almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Cats and dogs's Joe Camp did a great save. After a rather tough play, Cats and dogs's Nicolas Hamard got a free kick in the 73rd minute. Juan Sebastián Puig kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. In the 77th minute, Daniel Zorita made a precise shot to the right of Joe Camp. Cats and dogs's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-3. Julio Vera was prepared for the shot, but didn't have to make a play as the shot flew over the goal. Ecuador played a much better game than Cats and dogs and deserved their victory. The Cats and dogs players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
