Paulino Lamberto took the ball and in the 16 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Pedro Manzanares. Pedro Manzanares dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. In the 21stth minute of the game Carmelo Osoitz who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Colombia's Pedro Manzanares was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Cecilio Jax took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Axel Montenegro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Paulino Lamberto got free with Pedro Manzanares in the 26th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 27th minute, Ubaldo Veto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cecilio Jax showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Santino Seco in the 28th minute of the match. Cecilio Jax showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Abram Sarmiento, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. In the 34th minute, Abram Sarmiento left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Colombia fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2. In the 40th minute Santino Seco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cecilio Jax saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cecilio Jax was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The San Martin de Tucuman supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Colombia's performance. The match ended with a win for Colombia.
