Mariano Lacasa blasted a shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Flavio Lavatrice having to make a save. Thiago Pliego showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alfonso Cirigliano, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. Molfetta sportiva were awarded a corner in the 90th minute after Chile's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Domenico Campo took the corner. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Chile eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
