If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 38th minute Rio Gallegos Unidos were awarded a corner. Jonathan Balendin went to the cornerflag to take it. Jonathan Balendin made a great header on Rio Gallegos Unidos's corner, it was just that Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 42nd minute, Patricio Costa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 43 minutes, Tomas Illescas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Oscar Iyan in the 55th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 59 minutes into the match, Rio Gallegos Unidos's goal looked a bit too open when Patricio Costa came free, but Roman Iza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tomas Illescas in the 60thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. The audience was convinced that Tomas Illescas's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Roman Iza was relentless in the 78th minute of the game.
