Fabian Czeszejko took the ball and in the 15 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Tanek Ostrowski. Tanek Ostrowski dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. 23 minutes had been played when some careless play by Olimpia HSB's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Fabio-Roman Zabaleta was slow to take the kick. During this time Olympique Gdynia's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Phạm Nguyet almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Olimpia HSB's Tolek Kiszkiel did a great save. Olimpia HSB's Tolek Kiszkiel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Şota Arveladze in the 52nd minute of play. Olimpia HSB's Tomáš Petrásek was substituted for Sixto Yanguas. Olimpia HSB's attentive Panait Maxim managed to snatch the ball when Miroslaw Majorski made a throw-in in the 72nd minute of the game.
