Tomas Illescas's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Heiko Pinksteren read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 17th minute of play. In the 65thth minute of the game Chandler Bing who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Rudy Verheije received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Jonathan Ferrant tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Heiko Pinksteren showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomas Illescas in the 72nd minute of the match. Tomas Illescas succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 0-2 in the 74th playminute.
