Roman Japola tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dante Lacasa made a fantastic save in the 17th minute, when Ospin Sánchez sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of Mexico booed when Wisła Kraków Old Boys was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leszek Sidor didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 19th minute, Lautaro Mancebo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Mexico fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Roman Japola made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joel Gaona in the 26th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Joel Gaona in the 29th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Roman Japola saved Wisła Kraków Old Boys from getting behind. After 29 minutes, Joel Gaona made it 0-2 with a short kick to the right side. Wisła Kraków Old Boys's Roman Japola tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Mexico's Dante Lacasa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 35th minute of the match, managed to save Mexico from getting a goal against them. After 43 played minutes Wisła Kraków Old Boys got a freekick which was hit by Tolek Skoroda. The supporters of Wisła Kraków Old Boys booed when Mexico was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luca Rouco didn't get a good kick on the ball. 46 minutes into the match, Slawomir Milan had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dante Lacasa. Mexico's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Slawomir Milan was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. After the first half Mexico were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Karahan Bilkan to strike the kick off in the second half. When Wisła Kraków Old Boys's Karahan Bilkan in the 54th minute got a chance for a shot 54th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Wisła Kraków Old Boys's Roman Japola played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joel Gaona in the 63rd minute of play. After taking down the ball on Mexico's corner Joel Gaona fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Roman Japola quite easily take care of the ball. In the 64th match minute, Mexico was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lautaro Mancebo to maneuver through the defense. Alberto Tafalla sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. With a little luck, Wisła Kraków Old Boys's Roman Japola got control of the ball when Alberto Tafalla tried to sneak it across the goal line. Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luis Fernández in the 90th minute of play. Damian Debowy kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. In the 95th minute Mexico were awarded a corner. Joel Gaona went to the cornerflag to take it. Damian Debowy tried in the 95th minute to hit away a contribution but miss-kicked the ball which ended up in his own goal and left an unhappy Roman Japola a with quite unnecessary self made goal.
