Christian Wenerdahl was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 21 minutes into the match, IFK Göteborg's goal looked a bit too open when Tamás Koledich came free, but Christian Wenerdahl reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Christian Wenerdahl showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Márk Marton in the 22nd minute of the match. Tamás Koledich blasted a shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Christian Wenerdahl having to make a save. Christian Wenerdahl didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Béla Győrffy went, in the 31st minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. IFK Göteborg's Christian Wenerdahl played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Béla Győrffy in the 36th minute of play. Béla Győrffy received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Christian Wenerdahl tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tamás Koledich took the ball and in the 41 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Christian Wenerdahl. Christian Wenerdahl dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. Christian Wenerdahl stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of András Budai's shot from short distance in the 46th minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

After a defensive mix-up in IFK Göteborg's zone, Béla Győrffy stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Christian Wenerdahl came out of the goal and Béla Győrffy tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tamás Koledich got free with Christian Wenerdahl in the 54th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. András Budai fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Christian Wenerdahl having to interfere. After 58 played minutes IFK Göteborg got a freekick which was hit by Mattias Kilman. In the 59th minute, Tamás Koledich got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, IFK Göteborg's Ove Lövkvist got a free kick in the 60th minute. IFK Göteborg's Christian Wenerdahl played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tamás Koledich in the 61st minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Béla Győrffy during the 63rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to ᴀꜱ ɴᴀɢʏᴍᴀʀᴏꜱ getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Béla Győrffy hit a great ball. Béla Győrffy could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 66th minute of the match, but Christian Wenerdahl made a huge save. Jens-Ove Lindkvist hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. 69 minutes in the game, Tamás Koledich fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Christian Wenerdahl having to interfere. Christian Wenerdahl took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tamás Koledich, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of IFK Göteborg booed when ᴀꜱ ɴᴀɢʏᴍᴀʀᴏꜱ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. András Budai didn't get a good kick on the ball. Béla Győrffy could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 91st minute of the match, but Christian Wenerdahl made a huge save. ᴀꜱ ɴᴀɢʏᴍᴀʀᴏꜱ played a much better game than IFK Göteborg and deserved their victory. The IFK Göteborg players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
