Froilan Cresconio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Torsten Petersson in the 14th minute of play. In the 17th minute Torsten Petersson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Froilan Cresconio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 19th play minute Eulalio Tolino came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Christian Wenerdahl. 1-1. IFK Göteborg's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Valdemar Perez 24 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 2-1. Torsten Petersson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 27th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Pangarés FC's Afonsinho de Senna got a free kick in the 28th minute. Froilan Cresconio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jens-Ove Lindkvist, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Eulalio Tolino could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 30th minute of the match, but Christian Wenerdahl made a huge save. In the 32nd minute, IFK Göteborg's Kent Löfkvist seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Kent Löfkvist the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of IFK Göteborg protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Kent Löfkvist had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 31st minute, one of IFK Göteborg:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for IFK Göteborg. In the 38th minute Jens-Ove Lindkvist shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Froilan Cresconio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Froilan Cresconio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jens-Ove Lindkvist, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Ove Lövkvist had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jens-Ove Lindkvist struck a weak shot in the 45th minute. Froilan Cresconio didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for IFK Göteborg. Eulalio Tolino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ove Lövkvist to make the kick off. Pangarés FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 53rd minute, when Ove Lövkvist scored to the left of an out of position Froilan Cresconio, making the score, 3-2. In the 56th minute, Jens-Ove Lindkvist left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The IFK Göteborg fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by Valdemar Perez in the 60th minute of play forced IFK Göteborg's goalkeeper Christian Wenerdahl to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jens-Ove Lindkvist's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Froilan Cresconio read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 61st minute of play. 63 minutes into the match, Jânio Prestes notched a goal, 4-3, to the right of IFK Göteborg's Christian Wenerdahl. Christian Wenerdahl was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 67th minute IFK Göteborg were awarded a corner. Ove Lövkvist went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led IFK Göteborg's Ove Lövkvist to fire away a dangerous shot which Froilan Cresconio despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 70th minute, Jens-Ove Lindkvist got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 79th minute Valdemar Perez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Christian Wenerdahl saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Christian Wenerdahl showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eulalio Tolino, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. IFK Göteborg's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Froilan Cresconio made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jens-Ove Lindkvist in the 90th minute. When Ove Lövkvist came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the IFK Göteborg fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ove Lövkvist couldn't finish the play. Froilan Cresconio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jens-Ove Lindkvist, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ove Lövkvist fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Froilan Cresconio having to interfere. If Jens-Ove Lindkvist had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
