Léon Sureau was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 52nd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. When the match had gone on for 55 minutes, Per Stenberg put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Tanek Zurawski. Tanek Zurawski showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Per Stenberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. The audience was convinced that Hervé Malaise's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Magne Gunnarsson was relentless in the 93rd minute of the game. After some careless play in the Rönnöfors FF defense, Hervé Malaise kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Magne Gunnarsson. The Rönnöfors FF fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Magne Gunnarsson should have stopped the shot. Les Pionniers de Touraine's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
