Viktor Pettersson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Uriel Ferrer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 19 minutes into the match, Skövde AIK's goal looked a bit too open when Uriel Ferrer came free, but Viktor Pettersson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Viktor Pettersson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Godfredo Gau in the 25th minute. Chen Ao Fan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 27th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 28th minute Lionel-Andrés Messi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Viktor Pettersson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Kevin Keegan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kevin Keegan in the 30th minute of play forced Defensores de Lombroso's goalkeeper Denis Paulin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Skövde AIK's Viktor Pettersson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 41st minute of the match, managed to save Skövde AIK from getting a goal against them. Godfredo Gau could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 41st minute of the match, but Viktor Pettersson made a huge save. Defensores de Lombroso's Godfredo Gau got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Viktor Pettersson was out of position in the 47 minute of play, and Godfredo Gau capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Godfredo Gau really showed his touch with that goal: 2-1. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Lionel-Andrés Messi to make the kick off. Viktor Pettersson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Uriel Ferrer in the 56th minute of play. 60 minutes into the match, Skövde AIK's goal looked a bit too open when Uriel Ferrer came free, but Viktor Pettersson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 61st minute, Lionel-Andrés Messi left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net.
