After 16 played minutes Soroca F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Iordanis Karatzaferis. After having played for 17 minutes, Chen Ao Fan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Skövde AIK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Chen Ao Fan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 21st minute, Amador Venceslao left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Soroca F.C. fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. In the 25th minute Soroca F.C. were awarded a corner. Gustavo Tartalo went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led to Soroca F.C.'s Natalio Mazuste getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. 32 minutes into the match, Soroca F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Kevin Keegan came free, but Dan Wennerqvist reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hernan Lano's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 35thth minute, Ronnie Hellström skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 36th minute, Adrián Espadas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a little luck, Skövde AIK's Ronnie Hellström got control of the ball when Hernan Lano tried to sneak it across the goal line. Dan Wennerqvist made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kevin Keegan in the 45th minute of play.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Chen Ao Fan stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 55th minute, Adrián Espadas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Soroca F.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Adrián Espadas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ronnie Hellström breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Soroca F.C. made a substitution. Godofredo Quilino replaced Gustavo Tartalo. Soroca F.C.'s Răzvan Necula was substituted for Adrián Espadas. In the 59th minute of the game Hjalmar Hägert made a throw-in which Knut Rudberg played forward. In the 69th minute Răzvan Necula shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ronnie Hellström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Răzvan Necula ran back to his position shaking his head. After a rather tough play, Skövde AIK's Knut Rudberg got a free kick in the 87th minute. Ronnie Hellström showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Răzvan Necula, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. When Soroca F.C.'s Răzvan Necula in the 90th minute got a chance for a shot 90th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Skövde AIK's goalie prevented a goal. Skövde AIK's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
