In the 11th match minute, Riesgo Cero was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marco Jorrin to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kurt Hamrin in the 12th minute of play forced Riesgo Cero's goalkeeper Cristian Vladimirescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cristian Vladimirescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kevin Keegan, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. Knut Rudberg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Cristian Vladimirescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Filip Brolin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Marco Jorrin hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. If Knut Rudberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ronnie Hellström took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Santo Damario, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 30 minutes into the match, Skövde AIK's goal looked a bit too open when Kubilay İmge came free, but Ronnie Hellström reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Chen Ao Fan struck a weak shot in the 31st minute. Cristian Vladimirescu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Skövde AIK. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Kevin Keegan in the 38th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Cristian Vladimirescu saved Riesgo Cero from getting behind. Georg Norström struck a weak shot in the 41st minute. Cristian Vladimirescu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Skövde AIK. In the 43rd minute Chen Ao Fan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cristian Vladimirescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Kurt Hamrin kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. A collision led to Skövde AIK getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Egídio Fernandez hit a great ball. The Riesgo Cero players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Skövde AIK were winning 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Chen Ao Fan stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Chen Ao Fan who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 55thth minute tested the skills of Cristian Vladimirescu when he managed to save the team from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kubilay İmge in the 59th minute of play forced Skövde AIK's goalkeeper Ronnie Hellström to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jerry Williams who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 74thth minute tested the skills of Cristian Vladimirescu when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Filip Brolin could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 76th minute of the match, but Cristian Vladimirescu made a huge save. In the 85th minute of the match, Jerry Williams got a very nice opportunity to score, but Cristian Vladimirescu was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Santo Damario in the 87th minute of play forced Skövde AIK's goalkeeper Ronnie Hellström to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Kevin Keegan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cristian Vladimirescu having to interfere. When the match was over Skövde AIK could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Riesgo Cero throughout the match.
