Eugenio Nevada showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 15th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Herminio Loren's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 17th minute of the game. After 19 minutes Ecuador's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. 70 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Herminio Loren came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 73 minutes into the game, Cristian Sancho recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Eugenio Nevada. Cristian Sancho showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-5. Eugenio Nevada took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luis Andino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Venancio Estavan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Julio Vera didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Herminio Loren went, in the 89th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-5 was the resulting score. Evtim Chokoev hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. After 93 played minutes Progreso Tres got a freekick which was hit by Gaudencio Aurken. After a defensive mix-up in Progreso Tres's zone, Daniel Zorita stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eugenio Nevada came out of the goal and Daniel Zorita tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the match was over Ecuador could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Progreso Tres throughout the match.
