Cristian Sancho might have been able to make a better finish in the 5th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Santos Santos. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cristian Sancho ran back to his position shaking his head. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Herman Stålberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 7th minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Santos Santos having to interfere. After 14 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Camilo Gisbert. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ingemar Fristedt in the 17th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Daniel Zorita struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Santos Santos didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Santos Santos having to interfere. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Herman Stålberg in the 23rd minute of play. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Daniel Zorita came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Zorita couldn't finish the play. Antonio Arias hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. When Outback Fc's Herman Stålberg in the 29th minute got a chance for a shot 29th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Ecuador's goalie prevented a goal. In the 30th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Santos Santos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 31 minutes Outback Fc's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Outback Fc's goalie and right to Felix Montenegro. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Outback Fc's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Herman Stålberg in the 33rd minute of the match. 34 minutes into the match, Outback Fc's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Santos Santos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 34th minute, Daniel Zorita made a precise shot to the right of Santos Santos. Outback Fc's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. After having played for 37 minutes, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daniel Zorita was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 39th minute Herman Stålberg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Herman Stålberg came up free with the goalie in the 40th minute, the Outback Fc fans jumped to their feet. In the 42nd minute, Daniel Zorita got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Santos Santos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 45th minute of the match. Cristian Sancho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Felix Montenegro in the 51st minute of play forced Outback Fc's goalkeeper Santos Santos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bennvar Beard hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. Santos Santos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 53rd minute of play. Santos Santos made a fantastic save in the 56th minute, when Cristian Sancho sent off a good shot on target. 57 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Santos Santos narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 59th minute of the match, but Santos Santos made a huge save. Santos Santos was a little too slow when Daniel Zorita got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 59th minute. The score was now 0-2. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Santos Santos in the 62nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 63 minutes Outback Fc's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Asa Norberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Santos Santos in the 71st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 72nd minute. Santos Santos made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 76th minute. In the 85th minute the ball was on its way in behind Outback Fc's goalkeeper Santos Santos, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Arne Rolandsson hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. The supporters of Outback Fc booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Agustín Saelices didn't get a good kick on the ball. Joakim Trillkott charged in rather forcefully in the 90th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Joakim Trillkott the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Ecuador made a substitution. Luz Palacio replaced Daniel Zorita.
