Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Nilson Brasil made the kick off which started today's match. After 3 minutes of play, Venezuela's Tomas Illescas made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Romulo Frederik was left in no man's land by his defense there! 8 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nilson Brasil. After a defensive mix-up in Sporting Clube d Portugal's zone, Tomas Illescas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Romulo Frederik came out of the goal and Tomas Illescas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Venezuela's Patricio Costa got a good chance for a goal in the 12th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the match had gone on for 13 minutes, Artur Alves took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Jonathan Ferrant to make any attempt to save it. Sporting Clube d Portugal's Leon Norino got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 21 minutes into the match, Artur Alves notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Romulo Frederik made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Illescas in the 27th minute of play. Venezuela's Tomas Illescas got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tomas Illescas in the 39th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Romulo Frederik saved Sporting Clube d Portugal from getting behind. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Guillermo Mariano hit a great ball. 44 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nilson Brasil. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tomas Illescas to make the kick off. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Artur Alves, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ronaldo Furtado during the 56th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Tomas Illescas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Romulo Frederik tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 66th minute of the match, Patricio Costa tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Romulo Frederik saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Artur Alves scored 3-1 in the 76th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jonathan Ferrant, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tomas Illescas in the 79th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Romulo Frederik prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 80 minutes into the game, Artur Alves cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-1. Jonathan Ferrant was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Sporting Clube d Portugal's Romulo Frederik proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 90th minute of the match, managed to save Sporting Clube d Portugal from getting a goal against them. If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Sporting Clube d Portugal fans cheered their team off the field, for while Venezuela had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
