Norbert Balonek showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edmundo Espiga, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. Edmundo Espiga recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 7th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Goianésia E.C getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Attila Kertész hit a great ball. João Trigo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lautaro Navarro having to interfere. Gabi Gol struck a weak shot in the 17th minute. Lautaro Navarro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Goianésia E.C. In the 19th minute, Edmundo Espiga got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Lautaro Navarro was out of position in the 24 minute of play, and João Trigo capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. João Trigo really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. Edmundo Espiga struck a weak shot in the 28th minute. Norbert Balonek didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Honduras. Sebastian Villa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Norbert Balonek read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 33rd minute of play. The Honduras fans' excitement grew in the 37th match minute when Honduras's Edmundo Espiga looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After 42 played minutes Honduras got a freekick which was hit by Emanuel Ocampo. After some fancy dribbling in the 44th minute, Edmundo Espiga managed to get in a good position for a shot. Honduras's supporters rose to their feet, but Edmundo Espiga was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Norbert Balonek breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gabi Gol to make the kick off. Honduras's Christian Sancho suffered a sore thigh after 51 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Deivid Paraíba's late challenge caught a Honduras's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Deivid Paraíba helped the player get up and apologised. In the 52nd minute, Deivid Paraíba hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Norbert Balonek made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edmundo Espiga in the 55th minute of play. After having played for 56 minutes, Edmundo Espiga managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Honduras's supporters crossed their fingers, but Edmundo Espiga was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Lautaro Navarro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gabi Gol in the 62nd minute of play. Norbert Balonek made a fantastic save in the 63rd minute, when Edmundo Espiga sent off a good shot on target. Diego Almeida kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Edmundo Espiga in the 71st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Norbert Balonek saved Goianésia E.C from getting behind. Honduras were awarded a corner in the 72th minute after Goianésia E.C's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Edmundo Espiga took the corner. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Edmundo Espiga in the 74th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Norbert Balonek saved Goianésia E.C from getting behind. Esteban Carvallo hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. Honduras's Edmundo Espiga got a good chance for a goal in the 84th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Gabi Gol came up free with the goalie in the 87th minute, the Goianésia E.C fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gabi Gol couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Honduras getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Milagros Cabal hit a great ball. Lautaro Navarro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Attila Kertész in the 89th minute of the match. The supporters of Goianésia E.C booed when Honduras was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Moises Tafalla didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lautaro Navarro stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gabi Gol's shot from short distance in the 95th minute.
