Axel Tasis's late challenge caught a Kattvik kings's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Axel Tasis helped the player get up and apologised. After 5 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Axel Tasis. Kattvik kings were awarded a corner in the 9th minute after Costa Rica's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Şenel Zeval took the corner. John Bratt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With his leg Benito Sanz managed to avoid a goal in the 21stth minute, when Kattvik kings's John Bratt fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jürgen Trittin, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. After 24 minutes Costa Rica's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Şenel Zeval who took care of the corner kick. A collision led to Kattvik kings getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. John Bratt hit a great ball. Kurt Lövgren hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. John Bratt in the 38thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Benito Sanz, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Şenel Zeval got free with Benito Sanz in the 40th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Şenel Zeval in the 41st minute of the match. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell John Bratt to make the kick off.
