In the 7th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Oscar Västberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sven-Åke Lövkvist in the 8th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 8 minutes into the match, Sven-Åke Lövkvist notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Ecuador's Julio Vera. Julio Vera was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 16 played minutes Arktis BoIS got a freekick which was hit by Sverker Biörkquist. After having played for 22 minutes, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daniel Zorita was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 26th minute the ball was on its way in behind Arktis BoIS's goalkeeper Oscar Västberg, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from İlmi Akıncıbey, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Oscar Västberg came out of the goal in the 29th minute to try and stop a shot by Ecuador's Daniel Zorita. But to his dismay, Daniel Zorita quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Oscar Västberg had in the 37thth minute some difficulties stopping Daniel Zorita's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Zorita couldn't finish the play. In the 42nd match minute, Arktis BoIS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dick Söderqwist to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 47 minutes, Jörn Kullgren managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from İlmi Akıncıbey, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. In the 94th minute, İlmi Akıncıbey left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Arktis BoIS fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-1. Ecuador's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
