Dream Team FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Aquilino Póvoas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Fontana's Enrico Lucentini slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Vicente Simões. That made the score 2-0 after 32 minutes of play. In the 34th minute, Alexander Testi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Fontana booed when Dream Team FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Angélico Rijo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Vicente Simões made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alexander Testi in the 40th minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Emanuele Antonangeli to make the kick off. Jerónimo Raminhos blasted a shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Adriano Federici having to make a save. In the 95th minute Emanuele Antonangeli shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vicente Simões saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. For all the effort they put into the match, the Dream Team FC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Fontana.
