The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dong Xoai's Nguyễn Phuong played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leonard Mulia in the 23rd minute of play. After 27 played minutes Dong Xoai got a freekick which was hit by Nguyễn Duong. In the 35th minute of the match Phạm Hoang shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Joshua Simanungkalit showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After 41 played minutes Dong Xoai got a freekick which was hit by Liễu Quang Thanh. In the 46th minute, Nguyễn Duong hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Haikal Waluyo got free with Nguyễn Phuong in the 47th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The wind increased when Leonard Mulia made the kick off in the second half. Joshua Simanungkalit stood somewhat misplaced when Trần Hung came free in front of goal and shot 1-1 to the left of him in the 62 minute. 67 minutes into the match, Tono Sarwanto notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Dong Xoai's Nguyễn Phuong. Nguyễn Phuong was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 93rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Dong Xoai's goalkeeper Nguyễn Phuong, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. PSM Cigun had won after a very even match.
