Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tomas Illescas to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Tomas Illescas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The Venezuela fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-3. The Venezuela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Ferrant should have stopped the shot. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from 石朗思 in the 66th minute of play. If 石朗思 had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Salvador Gisbert kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. In the 76th minute of the match Norberto Granja shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jonathan Ferrant showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by 石朗思 in the 77th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Venezuela's zone, Gonçalo Pinho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal and Gonçalo Pinho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tomas Illescas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Henrique Prada having to interfere. In the 84th minute the ball was on its way in behind malaiko's goalkeeper Henrique Prada, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 85 played minutes malaiko got a freekick which was hit by Gonçalo Pinho. Henrique Prada showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Patricio Costa, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. After some careless play in the Venezuela defense, 石朗思 kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. The Venezuela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Ferrant should have stopped the shot. Norberto Granja hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. In the 96th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Patricio Costa to maneuver through the defense. Venezuela's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
