Spectators: 39 (Terracing: 30, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Tomas Illescas got the match started through his kick off. The audience was convinced that Patricio Costa's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Evaristo Pena was relentless in the 3rd minute of the game. In the 18th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rigoberto Mina to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Illescas in the 21st minute of play forced Boca Juniors's goalkeeper Evaristo Pena to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 23 minutes, Jose Correa mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Venezuela and the Boca Juniors players grew even worse after the yellow card. Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Boca Juniors's Evaristo Pena played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomas Illescas in the 39th minute of play. In the 41st minute, Generoso Iban ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jonathan Ferrant was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Severiano Mann received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Jonathan Ferrant tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 47th match minute, Boca Juniors was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mitch Meersmans to maneuver through the defense.

The wind increased when Generoso Iban made the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Camilo Gaos hit a great ball. 55 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Generoso Iban came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Camilo Gaos's late challenge caught a Boca Juniors's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Camilo Gaos helped the player get up and apologised. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 58th minute of the game. One of Venezuela:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Boca Juniors:s goal. The referee gave Boca Juniors a penalty, 60 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Nicasio Su, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant. 2-0. In the 67th minute of the match Venezuela got a corner. Boca Juniors's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Tomas Illescas ran over to the corner to take the kick. After 72 played minutes, Boca Juniors's Claudio Senin shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Boca Juniors reached it. Nicasio Su might have been able to make a better finish in the 92nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jonathan Ferrant. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Nicasio Su ran back to his position shaking his head. After a defensive mix-up in Venezuela's zone, Generoso Iban stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal and Generoso Iban tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Patricio Costa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Evaristo Pena tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Boca Juniors walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
