Hidrocarburo FC's Kauno Pirnes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 4th minute of play. 5 minutes had been played when some careless play by Hidrocarburo FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. A well-hit corner resulted in Felix Montenegro heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kauno Pirnes having to interfere. In the 11thth minute of the game Daniel Zorita who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Hidrocarburo FC's Kauno Pirnes was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 18 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Felix Montes. With a little luck, Ecuador's Julio Vera got control of the ball when Nicodim Mangra tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 20th minute of play forced Hidrocarburo FC's goalkeeper Kauno Pirnes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 22nd minute, Nemesio Sol got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 27 minutes Ecuador's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Mariano Valensuela who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on Hidrocarburo FC's corner Mariano Valensuela fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Julio Vera quite easily take care of the ball. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho got a free kick in the 28th minute. Hidrocarburo FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Daniel Zorita got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Kauno Pirnes quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Hidrocarburo FC's Kauno Pirnes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 40th minute of play. The supporters of Hidrocarburo FC booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Agustín Saelices didn't get a good kick on the ball. Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Nemesio Sol in the 45th minute. Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 45th minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. Nemesio Sol hit a great freekick 48 minutes into the match. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Daniel Zorita was the one to do the kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Hidrocarburo FC's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Kauno Pirnes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Kauno Pirnes didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cristian Sancho went, in the 52nd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. In the 55th minute Nicodim Mangra shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kahlil Suwandi in the 58th minute of play. Nemesio Sol recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 61st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Thanks to some nice moves Daniel Zorita could shoot a difficult shot in the 64th minute, which Kauno Pirnes however easily saved by the left post. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 65th minute after Hidrocarburo FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nicodim Mangra in the 68th minute of play. In the 69th minute Agustín Saelices shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kauno Pirnes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nemesio Sol scored 2-1 in the 71st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Julio Vera, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nemesio Sol in the 79th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nicodim Mangra in the 80th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 81st minute of the match, but Kauno Pirnes made a huge save. Ecuador's Cristian Sancho got a good chance for a goal in the 86th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 88th minute, Cristian Sancho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nemesio Sol, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nemesio Sol in the 95th minute of play.
