Spectators: 44 (Terracing: 34, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Ecuador's Daniel Zorita started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 9 minutes had been played when some careless play by Ecuador's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Emmanuel Corley was slow to take the kick. During this time Western Springs FC's players had a chance to rest. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Garrett Brock in the 11th minute of play. Emmanuel Corley in the 13thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Julio Vera, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 41st minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hal Mackey saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Daniel Zorita came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Zorita couldn't finish the play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

In the 52nd minute Emmanuel Corley shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hal Mackey made a fantastic save in the 56th minute, when Daniel Zorita sent off a good shot on target. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Felix Montenegro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Hal Mackey tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cristian Sancho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Hal Mackey read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 69th minute of play. Lionel Egan hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 73rd minute. Ecuador's Juan Sebastián Puig was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Hal Mackey in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Daniel Zorita made a great header on Ecuador's corner, it was just that Western Springs FC's Hal Mackey managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 76thth minute of the game Daniel Zorita who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Western Springs FC's Hal Mackey was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Kerry McDonald fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. 84 minutes into the match, Western Springs FC's goalkeeper Hal Mackey had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Zorita. 87 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Lionel Egan came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Ecuador defense, Lionel Egan kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Julio Vera. The Ecuador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Julio Vera should have stopped the shot. Agustín Saelices received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Hal Mackey tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 95th match minute, Western Springs FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cory Lowry to maneuver through the defense. The Western Springs FC support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
