Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pasachai Jitjai, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. The Gonzez's Holer Nolan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 9th minute of play. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Holer Nolan having to interfere. 16 minutes into the match, Daniel Zorita had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Holer Nolan. The Gonzez's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Daniel Zorita was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Felix Montenegro in the 21st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Holer Nolan prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 23 minutes into the match, The Gonzez's Pasachai Jitjai sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julio Vera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Pasachai Jitjai received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, Ecuador's Julio Vera got control of the ball when Xu Yi Jian tried to sneak it across the goal line. Julio Vera was out of position in the 31 minute of play, and Pasachai Jitjai capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Pasachai Jitjai really showed his touch with that goal: 1-1. In the 38th minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. The Gonzez's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. Daniel Zorita made a great header on Ecuador's corner, it was just that The Gonzez's Holer Nolan managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 39th minute, Bo Lundqvist hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Holer Nolan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Felix Montenegro in the 41st minute of play. Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 45th minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pasachai Jitjai in the 46th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 47th minute Mattias Qvalfeldt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Daniel Zorita to make the kick off. Xu Yi Jian scored 2-1 in the 55th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Julio Vera, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 60th match minute, The Gonzez was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ted Ödmann to maneuver through the defense. 61 minutes into the match, Luis Andino had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Holer Nolan. The Gonzez's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Luis Andino was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. Cristian Sancho struck a weak shot in the 65th minute. Holer Nolan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. After 69 played minutes The Gonzez got a freekick which was hit by Rickard Tunberg. The supporters of Ecuador booed when The Gonzez was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hjalmar Jakobsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 72nd minute, Xu Yi Jian ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Julio Vera was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-3. Felix Montenegro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Holer Nolan having to interfere. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ecuador were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
