Diguinho Carioca was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Alberto Tafalla received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Diguinho Carioca tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 16 minutes into the match, C o n f i a n ç a - SE's goal looked a bit too open when Joel Gaona came free, but Diguinho Carioca reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jeremias Maia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dante Lacasa having to interfere. With a little luck, Mexico's Dante Lacasa got control of the ball when Jeremias Maia tried to sneak it across the goal line. Arthur Barbosa kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joel Gaona in the 30th minute of play forced C o n f i a n ç a - SE's goalkeeper Diguinho Carioca to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Diguinho Carioca took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lautaro Mancebo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 36th minute Jeremias Maia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With an all-out effort, C o n f i a n ç a - SE's Dante Lacasa threw himself towards the right post 37 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Clayton Pedron, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Diguinho Carioca took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alberto Tafalla, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Joel Gaona came up free with the goalie in the 43rd minute, the Mexico fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Joel Gaona couldn't finish the play. Clayton Clayton kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. Diguinho Carioca showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luca Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 48th minute. When Mexico's Luca Zorita in the 48th minute got a chance for a shot 48th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. 56 minutes into the match, C o n f i a n ç a - SE's goal looked a bit too open when Alberto Tafalla came free, but Diguinho Carioca reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. C o n f i a n ç a - SE's Diguinho Carioca proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 63rd minute of the match, managed to save C o n f i a n ç a - SE from getting a goal against them. In the 64th match minute, C o n f i a n ç a - SE was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Clayton Pedron to maneuver through the defense. Diguinho Carioca made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 66th minute of play. Lautaro Mancebo took the ball and in the 69 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Diguinho Carioca. Diguinho Carioca dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Alberto Tafalla sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Mexico booed when C o n f i a n ç a - SE was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adam Eversden didn't get a good kick on the ball. 81 minutes into the match, Mexico's Lautaro Mancebo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Diguinho Carioca narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Joel Gaona recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 85th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Genílson da Silva kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Mexico's Alberto Tafalla got a free kick in the 87th minute. If Lautaro Mancebo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
