AS Monaco FC's Roch Puch played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julian Murillo in the 43rd minute of play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jairo Guifre was the one to do the kick off. Rolando Noboa stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jairo Guifre's shot from short distance in the 52nd minute. Peru's Eliseo Mina quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Witalis Gecionis, made in the 59th minute of the game. In the 60th minute Julian Murillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Roch Puch saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 64 minutes into the match, Peru's goal looked a bit too open when Franciszek Zukowski came free, but Rolando Noboa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Milagros Fraga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. AS Monaco FC's Amado Janpier was substituted for Franciszek Zukowski. Roch Puch made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julian Murillo in the 70th minute of play. 72 minutes into the match, AS Monaco FC's goalkeeper Roch Puch had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Julian Murillo. Jagan Van Landschoot made in the 79th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Witalis Gecionis. Roch Puch made an important save on a dangerous shot by Julian Murillo in the 85th minute. After some careless play in the AS Monaco FC defense, Luz Tejedor kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Roch Puch. The AS Monaco FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Roch Puch should have stopped the shot. Peru's Rafael Gallo was substituted for Julian Murillo. When the final whistle sounded Peru left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than AS Monaco FC.
