David Martínez was slow to take the kick. During this time SC Freiburg 09's players had a chance to rest. After a rather tough play, SC Freiburg 09's Humberto Carmo got a free kick in the 10th minute. 13 minutes in the game Domingos Palmeira did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Generoso Silvino. Abílio Passos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 15th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ivo Guterres made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sabino Vilhena in the 22nd minute of play. Vito de Godoi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vasco Brás in the 23rd minute of play. With a little luck, SC Freiburg 09's Ivo Guterres got control of the ball when Júlio Gentil tried to sneak it across the goal line. The referee felt a red card was in order, 26 minutes into the game, when Vasco Brás put in a rough tackle. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 25th minute of the game. One of SC Freiburg 09:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Matos Velhos:s goal. Ivo Guterres had in the 27thth minute some difficulties stopping Henrique Candal's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. 35 minutes into the match, Matos Velhos's goal looked a bit too open when Raul Leal came free, but Vito de Godoi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ivo Guterres showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sabino Vilhena in the 41st minute of the match. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Júlio Gentil to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute Júlio Gentil shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ivo Guterres saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ivo Guterres showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jiang Qing Lin in the 53rd minute of the match. Vito de Godoi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Abílio Passos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ivo Guterres came out of the goal in the 58th minute to try and stop a shot by Matos Velhos's Henrique Candal. But to his dismay, Henrique Candal quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Abílio Passos's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Vito de Godoi read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 61st minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sabino Vilhena in the 66th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ivo Guterres prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The Matos Velhos fans' excitement grew in the 66th match minute when Matos Velhos's Sabino Vilhena looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. A collision led to SC Freiburg 09 getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Humberto Carmo hit a great ball. Ivo Guterres showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tord Böcklund in the 72nd minute of the match. Máximo Lameiras hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. In the 89th minute, Matos Velhos's Tord Böcklund seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Tord Böcklund the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Matos Velhos protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Tord Böcklund had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. After 89 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Matos Velhos! In the 91st minute, David Martínez made a precise shot to the right of Vito de Godoi. Matos Velhos's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. When Durval Meira fell near the penalty area in the 96th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Matos Velhos's protests and gave Durval Meira a yellow card for diving instead. Durval Meira kicked well hit freekick during the 96th minute of the match. With a little luck, Matos Velhos's Vito de Godoi got control of the ball when Raul Leal tried to sneak it across the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Matos Velhos had won after a very even match.
