After 40 minutes, Murilo Paião mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the LaZuli and the SC Freiburg 09 players grew even worse after the yellow card. Jorge Infante showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Raul Leal, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Abílio Passos got free with Jorge Infante in the 68th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 69 minutes had been played when some careless play by LaZuli's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Mehmet Ferit İsmet was slow to take the kick. During this time SC Freiburg 09's players had a chance to rest.
