Made in Honduras's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tris Ruddock was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Dan Gheară made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Huang Lin Fan in the 46th minute of play. 47 minutes into the game, Aerolineas Argentinas FC's Marcos Loi nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Dan Gheară made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

58 minutes into the match, Made in Honduras's goal looked a bit too open when Huang Lin Fan came free, but Dan Gheară reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a left leg Dan Gheară saved Made in Honduras from getting behind. When the match had gone on for 79 minutes, Evaristo Cordareo put it in 0-4 from a short distance just to the right of Dan Gheară. Made in Honduras made a substitution. Nicolás Mora replaced Tris Ruddock. Made in Honduras's Oswaldo Pineda was substituted for Tommas Lanphan. In the 83rd minute, Alan Brito hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
