The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Playa Malvín's Zé Roberto Teixeira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zeledon Savion in the 14th minute of play. 16 minutes into the match, AC LeX Luthor's goalkeeper Maurício Bomba had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Stamen Tekeliev. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Zeledon Savion to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute Alvaro Errando shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zé Roberto Teixeira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Stamen Tekeliev's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Maurício Bomba was relentless in the 53rd minute of the game. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Alvaro Errando in the 60th minute a chance for a shot on goal.
