The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After some fancy dribbling in the 3rd minute, Lautaro Mancebo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mexico's supporters rose to their feet, but Lautaro Mancebo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alkın Uğursoy breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 15 minutes into the match, 1901 Black Stockings F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Joel Gaona came free, but Alkın Uğursoy reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Iskandar de Lara who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 17thth minute tested the skills of Dante Lacasa when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 18 minutes into the match, 1901 Black Stockings F.C.'s Iskandar de Lara sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dante Lacasa narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 27th minute Joel Gaona shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alkın Uğursoy saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 28th minute Mexico were awarded a corner. Joel Gaona went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Joel Gaona almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but 1901 Black Stockings F.C.'s Alkın Uğursoy did a great save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Lautaro Mancebo in the 29th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Alkın Uğursoy saved 1901 Black Stockings F.C. from getting behind. Alkın Uğursoy took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alberto Tafalla, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mexico were awarded a corner in the 34th minute after 1901 Black Stockings F.C.'s defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Joel Gaona took the corner. Leonardo Leoz got a throw-in 40 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Lautaro Mancebo. In the 47th play minute Iskandar de Lara came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Dante Lacasa. 1-1. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Joel Gaona to strike the kick off in the second half. Dionisio Leheren kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. Lautaro Mancebo's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Alkın Uğursoy firmly grabbed it by the left post. 57 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Iskandar de Lara came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 61st minute, Mexico's Lautaro Mancebo ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Alkın Uğursoy. Alkın Uğursoy yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-2. Leonardo Leoz kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 66th minute, Iskandar de Lara managed to get in a good position for a shot. 1901 Black Stockings F.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Iskandar de Lara was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alkın Uğursoy showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joel Gaona, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Iskandar de Lara in the 70th minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The corner ended in Iskandar de Lara almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Mexico's Dante Lacasa did a great save. 1901 Black Stockings F.C.'s Bernardinho Eger quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Leonardo Leoz, made in the 75th minute of the game. Iskandar de Lara struck a weak shot in the 79th minute. Dante Lacasa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for 1901 Black Stockings F.C.. Alkın Uğursoy made a fantastic save in the 85th minute, when Facundo Cadaval sent off a good shot on target. In the 91st minute, Lorenzo Cazalla hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of 1901 Black Stockings F.C. booed when Mexico was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lorenzo Cazalla didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dante Lacasa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Şansal Taşcıoğlu, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. Leonardo Leoz kicked well hit freekick during the 96th minute of the match. The 1901 Black Stockings F.C. fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Mexico were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
