In the 16th minute Alberto Tafalla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ronnie Hellström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mexico's Dante Lacasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eric Blomqvist in the 17th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gustav Hansson in the 28th minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dante Lacasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eric Blomqvist, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. FC Z were awarded a corner in the 32th minute after Mexico's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Karl-Oskar Kinell took the corner. Luca Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ronnie Hellström showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 37th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, FC Z's George Larsson got a free kick in the 39th minute. In the 43rd minute Luca Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ronnie Hellström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 44 minutes of play, Mexico's Alberto Tafalla made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ronnie Hellström was left in no man's land by his defense there!

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Joel Gaona was the one to do the kick off. 51 minutes into the match, Joel Gaona dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Ronnie Hellström, 0-2. Mexico's Dante Lacasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by George Larsson in the 54th minute of play. 58 minutes into the game, Emanuel Măcrinici cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Emanuel Măcrinici in the 63rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dante Lacasa saved Mexico from getting behind. FC Z's Ronnie Hellström played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 74th minute of play. Mexico's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Joel Gaona in the 75th minute. It was a well-played corner which Luca Zorita managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. 78 minutes into the match, Alberto Tafalla dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Ronnie Hellström, 1-3. The supporters of Mexico booed when FC Z was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gustav Hansson didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 84 minutes, Lautaro Mancebo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mexico's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lautaro Mancebo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 87th match minute, Mexico was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lautaro Mancebo to maneuver through the defense. Ronnie Hellström showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 89th minute of the match. Joel Gaona might have been able to make a better finish in the 94th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ronnie Hellström. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Joel Gaona ran back to his position shaking his head. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Mexico eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
