Cormoranii -MM-'s goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Lajos Józsa ran over to the corner to take the kick. The Szajk LC fans' excitement grew in the 7th match minute when Szajk LC's Csongor Csorba looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The throw-in from Marcel Vulpe in the 12th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Szajk LC's Jonas Cesaro. Szajk LC's Jonas Cesaro managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Marcel Vulpe in the 18 minute of the game. Szajk LC's Zalán Kovács came free and shot a quick shot against goal 21 minutes in the game, fortunately Dino Zoff had problems saving as it came toward the left post. 22 minutes had been played when some careless play by Cormoranii -MM-'s defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Lajos Józsa was slow to take the kick. During this time Szajk LC's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on Szajk LC's corner Lajos Józsa fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Dino Zoff quite easily take care of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tibor Bósa in the 25th minute of play forced Cormoranii -MM-'s goalkeeper Dino Zoff to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With his leg Dino Zoff managed to avoid a goal in the 29thth minute, when Szajk LC's Zalán Kovács fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Dino Zoff made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tibor Bósa in the 34th minute of play. 47 minutes into the match, Szajk LC's goal looked a bit too open when Vintilă Hălmăgeanu came free, but András Horváth reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Valer Uduleanu was the one to do the kick off. Szajk LC's attentive Jonas Cesaro managed to snatch the ball when Marcel Vulpe made a throw-in in the 51st minute of the game. Szajk LC's Jonas Cesaro quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Marcel Vulpe, made in the 59th minute of the game. Cormoranii -MM-'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Szajk LC the free kick. A collision led to Cormoranii -MM- getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Bobby Fischer hit a great ball.
