After a rather tough play, Merceron United's Ennio Guidoni got a free kick in the 3rd minute. In the 11th minute, Armando Bastia reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Cristoforo Iacomini. The goal made the score 1-0. After some careless play in the Los Espinillos FC defense, Alex De Toni kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Isaac Guzman. The Los Espinillos FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Isaac Guzman should have stopped the shot. In the 19th minute, Alex De Toni ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Isaac Guzman was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. The supporters of Los Espinillos FC booed when Merceron United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alfredo Antonelli didn't get a good kick on the ball. Filippo Corna's late challenge caught a Los Espinillos FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Filippo Corna helped the player get up and apologised. In the 24th minute, Filippo Corna hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Merceron United's Cristoforo Iacomini proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 25th minute of the match, managed to save Merceron United from getting a goal against them. After 27 minutes, Armando Bastia mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Los Espinillos FC and the Merceron United players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 27 played minutes Los Espinillos FC got a freekick which was hit by Armando Bastia. Emilio Conti received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Isaac Guzman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alex De Toni fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Isaac Guzman having to interfere. When Martin Ospin came up free with the goalie in the 33rd minute, the Los Espinillos FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Martin Ospin couldn't finish the play. Adolfo Tipi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cristoforo Iacomini having to interfere. When the match clock showed 36 minutes, the score became 1-3 when Alex De Toni sped through Los Espinillos FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Isaac Guzman. Isaac Guzman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alex De Toni in the 39th minute of play. After 40 played minutes Los Espinillos FC got a freekick which was hit by Adolfo Tipi. The Los Espinillos FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Merceron United were winning 1-4.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Alex De Toni to strike the kick off in the second half. Alex De Toni scored 1-5 in the 52nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Isaac Guzman, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Alfredo Antonelli hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. In the 58th minute Emilio Conti shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Isaac Guzman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Arnaldo Jurdan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 64 minutes into the game, Emilio Conti recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Isaac Guzman. Emilio Conti showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-6. Isaac Guzman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Emilio Conti, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. In the 68th minute Merceron United were awarded a corner. Ennio Marcantonio went to the cornerflag to take it. It was a well-played corner which Ennio Guidoni managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Cristoforo Iacomini made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Armando Bastia in the 70th minute of play. 72 minutes into the match, Alex De Toni notched a goal, 1-7, to the right of Los Espinillos FC's Isaac Guzman. Isaac Guzman was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The supporters of Los Espinillos FC booed when Merceron United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alfredo Antonelli didn't get a good kick on the ball. Baldomiro Montrell struck a weak shot in the 77th minute. Cristoforo Iacomini didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Los Espinillos FC. Cristoforo Iacomini showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Armando Bastia, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. 83 minutes into the match, Merceron United's goal looked a bit too open when Arnaldo Jurdan came free, but Cristoforo Iacomini reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Arnaldo Jurdan scored 2-7 in the 85th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Cristoforo Iacomini, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Armando Bastia in the 87th minute of play forced Merceron United's goalkeeper Cristoforo Iacomini to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Los Espinillos FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 89th minute, when Alex De Toni scored to the left of an out of position Isaac Guzman, making the score, 2-8. 94 minutes into the match, Filippo Corna sent off a long shot that looked like it was going straight into the goal, but because Isaac Guzman threw himself in his full length he managed to grip the ball by the left post, and there was no goal for Filippo Corna this time. The Merceron United players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
