Jonathan Ferrant was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Patricio Costa struck a weak shot in the 23rd minute. Anibal Celino didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Venezuela. Tomas Illescas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Anibal Celino tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tomas Illescas might have been able to make a better finish in the 26th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Anibal Celino. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tomas Illescas ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 26th minute Tomas Illescas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Anibal Celino saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Tempest Team defense, Tomas Illescas kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Anibal Celino. The Tempest Team fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Anibal Celino should have stopped the shot. Patricio Costa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anibal Celino having to interfere. 39 minutes into the match, Alfonso Valente had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Alfonso Valente was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. 42 minutes into the match, Venezuela's Tomas Illescas sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Anibal Celino narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Tomas Illescas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anibal Celino having to interfere. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rigoberto Mina during the 56th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Rigoberto Mina kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anselmo Petroni, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tomas Illescas struck a weak shot in the 61st minute. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alfonso Valente in the 71st minute of play. In the 74th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Guillermo Mariano to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 76 minutes, Tomas Illescas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Venezuela's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tomas Illescas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anselmo Petroni in the 81st minute of play. Alfonso Bolognesi scored 3-1 in the 84th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jonathan Ferrant, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 92nd minute Alfonso Bolognesi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alfonso Bolognesi in the 96th minute of play. There was no doubt that Tempest Team were the better team. Tempest Team's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
