The audience thought a goal was coming when Ben Kiesel got free with Genaro Ponciano in the 16th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ma Tian in the 17th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Genaro Ponciano saved FC Iecēni from getting behind. In the 19th minute 邱卫荣 shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Genaro Ponciano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tiburcio Lejalde could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 23rd minute of the match, but Genaro Ponciano made a huge save. In the 30th play minute Ma Tian came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Genaro Ponciano. 2-0. A collision led to JULM C.F. getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Tiburcio Lejalde was slow to take the kick. During this time JULM C.F.'s players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Tiburcio Lejalde almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but FC Iecēni's Genaro Ponciano did a great save. Enrique Saura's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Genaro Ponciano read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 41st minute of play. 45 minutes into the match, Olavs Eliass notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of JULM C.F.'s Jorginho Brodel. Jorginho Brodel was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

After 52 minutes FC Iecēni's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Tiburcio Lejalde who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Tiburcio Lejalde got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Genaro Ponciano quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 56th minute Ma Tian shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Genaro Ponciano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Genaro Ponciano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tiburcio Lejalde, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. In the 59th minute Enrique Saura shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Genaro Ponciano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
