The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Hexo Utd's Max Limont played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Olavs Eliass in the 5th minute of play. Max Limont showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Viktors Behmans, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. In the 7th minute Vilmantas Kalinauskas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Genaro Ponciano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to FC Iecēni getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Olavs Eliass hit a great ball. The throw-in from Gražvydas Drąsutis in the 14th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by FC Iecēni's Hermanis Tiltnieks. FC Iecēni's Genaro Ponciano proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 16th minute of the match, managed to save FC Iecēni from getting a goal against them. Vilmantas Kalinauskas made in the 17th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Mar Cheze. Genaro Ponciano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Paulius Rožėnas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Max Limont had in the 29thth minute some difficulties stopping Viesturs Pilāns's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Paulius Rožėnas kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Genaro Ponciano. That made the score 2-1 in the 31 minute of play. Max Limont showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Olavs Eliass, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. Mar Cheze's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 39thth minute, Genaro Ponciano skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. With a little luck, FC Iecēni's Genaro Ponciano got control of the ball when Mar Cheze tried to sneak it across the goal line. After taking down the ball on Hexo Utd's corner Mar Cheze fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Genaro Ponciano quite easily take care of the ball. Paulius Rožėnas did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 3-1 to the left of a surprised Genaro Ponciano 45 minutes into the match. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-1.

Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Paulius Rožėnas in the 51st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Genaro Ponciano prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 52nd minute of the match Hexo Utd got a corner. FC Iecēni's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Mar Cheze ran over to the corner to take the kick. Hexo Utd's Mar Cheze was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Genaro Ponciano in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 55th minute of the match, Viesturs Pilāns tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Max Limont saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paulius Rožėnas in the 57th minute of play forced FC Iecēni's goalkeeper Genaro Ponciano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Genaro Ponciano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paulius Rožėnas in the 58th minute of the match. When FC Iecēni's Viesturs Pilāns, in the 61st minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for FC Iecēni. FC Iecēni's Rainers Ekerts was substituted for Viktors Behmans. Hexo Utd made a substitution. Miglius Simonaitis replaced Adolfo Brandão. After a rather tough play, Hexo Utd's Jonatan Klack got a free kick in the 64th minute. In the 66th minute Paulius Rožėnas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Genaro Ponciano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 67th minute, Paulius Rožėnas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hexo Utd's supporters rose to their feet, but Paulius Rožėnas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Genaro Ponciano breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Genaro Ponciano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Miglius Simonaitis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. FC Iecēni's Genaro Ponciano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mar Cheze in the 70th minute of play. Vilmantas Kalinauskas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Genaro Ponciano having to interfere. 81 minutes into the match, FC Iecēni's goal looked a bit too open when Paulius Rožėnas came free, but Genaro Ponciano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Genaro Ponciano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Miglius Simonaitis in the 92nd minute of the match. In the 95th minute, Paulius Rožėnas made a precise shot to the right of Genaro Ponciano. FC Iecēni's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 5-1. For all the effort they put into the match, the FC Iecēni players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Hexo Utd.
