Julio Vera didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Jangkrik Boss. If Wiktor Bator had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wiktor Bator in the 20th minute of play. After 22 minutes Ecuador's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Cornelius Ariwibowo who took care of the corner kick. In the 32nd minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. Jangkrik Boss's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 44th minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. In the 45th minute, Hamdani Djunjunan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Armin Proietto having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Wiktor Bator's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 59th minute of the game. When the match had gone on for 61 minutes, Felix Montenegro took a quick shot and it went in 0-2 without a chance for Armin Proietto to make any attempt to save it.
