Mexico's Alberto Tafalla managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Beppe Faiella in the 18 minute of the game. After some careless play in the Atletico Kankero defense, Alberto Tafalla kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Comunardo Marsili. The Atletico Kankero fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Comunardo Marsili should have stopped the shot. Dante Lacasa stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Amos Urbani's shot from short distance in the 27th minute. 29 minutes into the game, Joel Gaona cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Comunardo Marsili was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Dante Lacasa made a fantastic save in the 32nd minute, when Franco Carrea sent off a good shot on target. Luca Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Dante Lacasa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fedele Pedroni, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Amos Urbani in the 68th minute of the match. In the 70th minute of the match, Lautaro Mancebo got a very nice opportunity to score, but Comunardo Marsili was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Comunardo Marsili made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joel Gaona in the 72nd minute of play. Comunardo Marsili was left in no man's land by his defense there! Mexico's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
