In the 12th minute Juan Hoffmann shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 13 minutes into the match, Daniel Zorita notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of GrosseLapingen's Marian Chilavert. Marian Chilavert was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cezary Piczak in the 17th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Ecuador. With a little luck, Ecuador's Julio Vera got control of the ball when Anastasios Tragas tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of Ecuador booed when GrosseLapingen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Reynaldo Mello didn't get a good kick on the ball. Juan Hoffmann's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 52nd minute of play. In the 57th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marian Chilavert saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marian Chilavert made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 59th minute. After 60 minutes GrosseLapingen's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. The corner ended in Agustín Saelices almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but GrosseLapingen's Marian Chilavert did a great save. GrosseLapingen's defense didn't have a chance, in the 72nd minute, when Cristian Sancho scored to the left of an out of position Marian Chilavert, making the score, 1-2. 74 minutes into the match, Juan Hoffmann notched a goal, 2-2, to the right of Ecuador's Julio Vera. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cezary Piczak in the 92nd minute of play. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anastasios Tragas in the 95th minute of play. Despite being the better team, Ecuador failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
