After 16 played minutes Jamaica got a freekick which was hit by Finlay Stair. After having played for 25 minutes, Jérémy Delépine managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Labbeville's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jérémy Delépine was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 25th minute, Finlay Stair hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 27th minute, Karlus Waugh sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Labbeville's Lamine Araujo didn't even have to move. When the match clock showed 32 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Finlay Stair sped through Labbeville's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Lamine Araujo. If Karlus Waugh had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Finlay Stair to make the kick off. The referee showed Barnabé Panel the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Jamaica booed when Labbeville was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Barnabé Panel didn't get a good kick on the ball.
