Antonio Arias hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ntinos Kaliakatsos in the 35th minute of the match. In the 38th minute, Daniel Zorita made a precise shot to the right of Aris Zanteroglou. Jose F.C.'s defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-2. 47 minutes into the match, Jose F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Aris Zanteroglou reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cristian Sancho got free with Aris Zanteroglou in the 81st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Aris Zanteroglou made a fantastic save in the 85th minute, when Agustín Saelices sent off a good shot on target. In the 89th minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. Jose F.C.'s goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Daniel Zorita almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Jose F.C.'s Aris Zanteroglou did a great save. Themos Panagakis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 96th minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Daniel Zorita got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Aris Zanteroglou quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save.
