Valentine Corias could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 3rd minute of the match, but Kauã Paranaense made a huge save. Toronto United's Kauã Paranaense played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ismael Larrategui in the 10th minute of play. Kauã Paranaense made a fantastic save in the 11th minute, when Valentine Corias sent off a good shot on target. If Ismael Larrategui had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Valentine Corias received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Kauã Paranaense tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Hendrik van Eijnde made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abraham Fitzgerald in the 27th minute of play. In the 28th minute, Valentine Corias got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Kauã Paranaense made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ismael Larrategui in the 32nd minute of play. In the 34th minute of the match Hincha Pelotas FC got a corner. Toronto United's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Alvarez Pierredonda ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Alvarez Pierredonda got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Kauã Paranaense quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 37th minute Güngör Yüce shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hendrik van Eijnde saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hincha Pelotas FC's Mathías Guevara was substituted for Valentine Corias. The Hincha Pelotas FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Toronto United were winning 0-1.

When Ismael Larrategui fell near the penalty area in the 53rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Hincha Pelotas FC's protests and gave Ismael Larrategui a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Toronto United booed when Hincha Pelotas FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ismael Larrategui didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 58 played minutes Toronto United got a freekick which was hit by Rodolfo Eleazar. Thomas Knowles got a throw-in 59 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Abraham Fitzgerald. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 65th minute of the game. One of Toronto United:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Hincha Pelotas FC:s goal. The referee gave Hincha Pelotas FC a penalty, 66 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Alvarez Pierredonda, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Toronto United's Kauã Paranaense. 1-1. Elwood Keys hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. In the 70thth minute of the game Ismael Larrategui who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Toronto United's Kauã Paranaense was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 84 minutes into the game, Mathías Guevara cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Kauã Paranaense was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Ismael Larrategui fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kauã Paranaense having to interfere. If Ismael Larrategui had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the referee blew the final whistle, Hincha Pelotas FC could leave the field as winners, despite Toronto United having more of the ball for most of the match.
