When Nicolae Barbu came up free with the goalie in the 13th minute, the FC Steaua Pildesti fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nicolae Barbu couldn't finish the play. A hard shot 16 in the game by Lucian Stere from a close distance when the talented Jonathan Ferrant managed to make a qualified save. Venezuela's players were relieved. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Lucian Stere in the 17th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jonathan Ferrant prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Tomas Illescas made a kick off. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Tomas Illescas got a free kick in the 52nd minute. In the 80th minute Lucian Stere shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match had gone on for 82 minutes, Lucian Stere put it in 4-0 from a short distance just to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Jose Correa hit a great ball. Jose Correa kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Venezuela's zone, Nistor Costandache stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal and Nistor Costandache tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. FC Steaua Pildesti walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
