When Juan Rubio fell near the penalty area in the 12th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Costa Rica's protests and gave Juan Rubio a yellow card for diving instead. When the match had been going on for 13 minutes, Merceron United's Milosz Waselenczuk got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Benito Sanz. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edoardo Pascucci in the 17th minute of the match. With a little luck, Costa Rica's Benito Sanz got control of the ball when Dinei Fernandez tried to sneak it across the goal line. Benito Sanz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Edoardo Pascucci in the 22nd minute.
