In the 24th minute Étienne Lepers shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcos Cotilla saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marcos Cotilla made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Étienne Lepers in the 27th minute of play. After having played for 28 minutes, Tomas Berganza managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Panama's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tomas Berganza was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 31 minutes into the match, Panama's goal looked a bit too open when Étienne Lepers came free, but Marcos Cotilla reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 36th minute Étienne Lepers shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcos Cotilla saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 40 minutes into the match, Panama's goalkeeper Marcos Cotilla had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Naycho Samarov. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when Tomas Berganza made the kick off in the second half. Marcos Cotilla made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Naycho Samarov in the 53rd minute of play. Marcos Cotilla took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Naycho Samarov, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Marcos Cotilla stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Naycho Samarov's shot from short distance in the 72nd minute. Onurhan Kocay tried in the 78th minute to hit away a contribution but miss-kicked the ball which ended up in his own goal and left an unhappy Florian Antoszewski a with quite unnecessary self made goal. Result 0-1. In the 80th minute the ball was on its way in behind BEŞİKTAŞ J.K's goalkeeper Florian Antoszewski, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Tomas Berganza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Felipe Ros's late challenge caught a BEŞİKTAŞ J.K's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Felipe Ros helped the player get up and apologised. In the 87th minute, Felipe Ros hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Florian Antoszewski made a fantastic save in the 93rd minute, when Aaron Barrios sent off a good shot on target. With 95 minutes on the clock, Dylan Sarmiento commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Panama had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
