Raul Furtado made in the 2nd minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Javier Ferreyra however managed to control. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Francisco Seco in the 6th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Victoriano Dunixi prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Francisco Seco in the 6th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Victoriano Dunixi saved Rio de la Plata 91218 3-1 from getting behind. After a rather tough play, Uruguay's Francisco Seco got a free kick in the 13th minute. 18 minutes into the match, Francisco Seco notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Rio de la Plata 91218 3-1's Victoriano Dunixi. Victoriano Dunixi was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After some fancy dribbling in the 20th minute, Francisco Seco managed to get in a good position for a shot. Uruguay's supporters rose to their feet, but Francisco Seco was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Victoriano Dunixi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The Uruguay fans' excitement grew in the 22nd match minute when Uruguay's Francisco Seco looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 28th match minute, Rio de la Plata 91218 3-1 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Juan Quiroga to maneuver through the defense. When Francisco Seco came up free with the goalie in the 29th minute, the Uruguay fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Francisco Seco couldn't finish the play. A throw-in in the 31st minute of the game was made by Raul Furtado with Luciano Sesuldo as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. In the 35th minute, Alberto Gisbert hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 39 minutes Uruguay's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Javier Ferreyra who took care of the corner kick. The corner ended in Nicanor Veronica almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso did a great save. Javier Ferreyra recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After the first half Uruguay were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Luciano Sesuldo in the 55th minute of play forced Uruguay's goalkeeper Joaquin Gayoso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 61st minute, Angelo Lordi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Joaquin Gayoso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Astor Estevez, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Uruguay's Francisco Seco slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Victoriano Dunixi. That made the score 1-3 after 65 minutes of play. The supporters of Uruguay booed when Rio de la Plata 91218 3-1 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luciano Sesuldo didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Francisco Seco in the 75th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Victoriano Dunixi saved Rio de la Plata 91218 3-1 from getting behind. 77 minutes into the match, Uruguay's Maximiliano Escribano sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Victoriano Dunixi narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 88th minute, Alberto Gisbert hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Francisco Seco who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 89thth minute tested the skills of Victoriano Dunixi when he managed to save the team from getting behind. When Camilo Franco fell near the penalty area in the 90th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Uruguay's protests and gave Camilo Franco a yellow card for diving instead. After 93 minutes, Alberto Gisbert mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Uruguay and the Rio de la Plata 91218 3-1 players grew even worse after the yellow card. Alberto Gisbert kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. A collision led to Uruguay getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Maximiliano Escribano hit a great ball. Uruguay's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
